The Westchester Feline Club's 1999 "Cat of the Year" is
Supreme Grand Alter Asher's KoiBoiToi of Broadsway.

KB was recognized for his extraordinary "sixth sense" and immeasurable unselfishness, dedication and loyalty to his human companions.

KB is a cat with a Mission:

KB is a Brown Spotted Tabby & White Japanese Bobtail that was shown in TICA to the highest title possible. When his show career was over, his owners thought that he would settle down and enjoy the good life at home. Wrong... He started escaping from the house and going next door to visit Lori and her father Walter. They never had a cat, and never thought they would. KB had other plans! The progression went like this:
"He's here again!"
"Maybe I should borrow some cat food."
"Now I need a litter pan."
"Is it OK if he stays overnight? He is so comfortable on my bed."

Shortly after KB moved in, Lori was diagnosed with inoperable stomach cancer. KB never left her side for long. He was even smuggled into the hospital for a visit. Their bond was as tight as any human and cat could have. He played with her feeding tubes and helped the doctor with the IVs. Over 1 1/2 years they cared for each other and the comfort to Lori was immeasurable. Unfortunately, KB could not save Lori, and when she died his mourning was as deep as any human's, but his mission was not yet over.

Lori's house was sold and Walter, after outliving his wife and two daughters, moved to a nearby apartment complex that DID NOT ALLOW PETS. Of course, KB moved too, and is there caring for Walter. Thus far, there have been no problems, but he is not "legal". KB is Walter's family now and knows he is still needed.

The Westchester Feline Club and KB's previous owners are looking for an organization, preferably in the northeast part of the US, that is working towards assisting seniors in keeping their pets when they move into apartments or assisted living homes and perhaps working towards legislation to support this goal. If you know of any group like this, please email the club with details!
